HAHAH. okay, first few days of school were not as bad

as i thought it would be. Met new people, ahahha.

My classmates are nice people. and funny people.

HAHAHA. Oh man, nothing beats 2EX 09 but

i guess i'll have to learn to adapt to my new class! hahaha..

Today, we had Pe and we played dodge ball. i guess it was

bonding time for our class and it turned out to be not so bad.

At least i already know half the class from last year, just that

i don't talk to them :X oh well, i hope the next few years will

You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep cause reality is finally better than your dreams.

Merry Christmas everyone. Oh yes, christmas season. How i used to love it so much, that every year, i would look forward to the feeling of the end of the year and how nice it would be to have a nice year ahead of me. This year, i'm starting to dread the holidays. Basically, i'm loaded with so much work to do. I haven't started studying and i have alot. Like seirously ALOT of things to do. And to make things worse? I have so much tution to sit through. Yes, it is good for me but it's restricting me from my freedom, and to spend time with someone.

This week has been a really horrible one. But someone had changed my life this week. You are someone really special and really have made a difference in my life. Although there are some complications, i really hope that it would continue. Every cloud has a silver lining. I'm really hoping that the rest of the week would still be okay, and things remain the same forever:x I'm really looking forward to tuesdayy!!!!!!

9-12 december zao bao cultural cruise. IT WAS AWESOME. stayed up on the last night to play cards and finally fell asleep. hahah. overall the trip was good:D made so many new friends. had lots and lots of fun:D even nana choy was there with her family HAHHA.

Went to plaza sing with some people from Aries. Watched princess and the frog. Omg the show was damn funny. hahahah. Went to the arcade to play the basket ball thing hahah. Then went for dinner:D the end HAHAH

YESTERDAY.

School's open house. I was there at 8 , when reporting time was 830. hahah.

Luckily, when i got there, most people were there le. I talked with people and waited for olivia and keller to come. Not long later, they came. Olivia thought it started at 10 so she decided to come late.Only after i told her that most people were there already she decided to come.HAHAH

okay there were many parents. They all looked like they were foreigners. Most of them stared at us and all. HAHA. Elisabeth, Olivia, Jenna, Yijing and other people were there ushering the parents .HAHAHoh and shao kai :D

The principal gave a super long speech. And i learnt stuff about our sch. HAHAH

we will have a school jacket which would be standardized from next year MEANING.

We are only allowed to wear the school jackets in schoool. saddd.

September holidays are just as boring. No school. Studying all day at home. Just for that stupid paper that the school put on the first day of Term 4 so that the foreigners will come back on time for school. Haiz.

Nothing fun comming up during the holidays. Most probably im not allowed to go out -.-

Currently slacking at home. Despite the fact that my dad has given me a thousand and one things to do LOl.

I called taxi from his house. which was at like my sister's school there.

1 H1N1

Many of our students and teachers have travelled widely during the June school holiday, a number of them to countries listed by the Singapore Ministry of Health as areas affected by community transmission of the H1N1 virus.

As such, we have had to devise a plan that will ensure that our students will continue to enjoy the benefits of a sound education while minimizing the risk of H1N1 infection.

We have decided to declare the first week of term (Monday 29 June - Friday 3 July) an 'e-learning week'. This means that students and teachers will not have to report to school until the following Monday, 6 July, at 8am. (Monday 6 July is a scheduled school holiday in MOE schools, but we will operate a normal school day.)

Students will be set assignments accessible via our own website. (www.hcis.edu.sg) Students will complete the assignments during the course of the week 29 June - 3 July and submit them online for assessment by their subject teachers.

Students can access the work set by clicking on the 'Home Based Learning' link by logging into the portal using their "windows login" at www.hcis.edu.sg.

We will make up any lost curriculum time by calling students back to school on selected Saturdays throughout July and August as necessary.

Do ensure that your children / wards complete their e-learning assignments and that from 6 July onwards they stay away from school whenever they are unwell with a fever or flu-like symptoms.

On returning to school...

Once your children do return to school, we shall have in place thermal-scanning equipment to detect anyone with a fever before entry to the school, and to monitor them throughout the day. We will ask any parent or guardian of a child who turns up at school with a fever to come and take them back home, or we will summon an ambulance for the child depending upon their recent travel history.

We will also be screening all visitors and workers at the school with a view to reducing the risk of an H1N1 outbreak on our campus.

We are sure that you will support these arrangements and give us your active cooperation in our attempts to give your children maximum protection from infection.

These are precautionary measures only. Kindly reassure your children that even though this virus is widespread, in the vast majority of cases it causes only a mild illness from which patients quickly recover.

2 Curriculum Time

I am pleased to tell you that we have streamlined our school hours with effect from Monday 6 July.

School will begin at 8am and will continue until 1540 every day except Thursday, when CCAs will run until 1700.

A new feature of our provision will be a 40-minute homework period at the end of each day (except Thursday). These will be silent periods during which students can get on with their homework assignments under the supervision of a teacher. We hope that this will encourage the habit of silent self-study in our student population.

To help students cope with the longer day, we have scheduled short breaks in the middle of the morning and during the afternoon, as well as a longer designated lunch break.

3 Parent-teacher meetings

I will shortly be announcing the dates for these during term three. Please keep an eye open for this information on our website. Our published calendar of events is also under review given the fluid H1N1 situation, so do refer to the site regularly for updates.
